Looks remarkably similar to how the Western establishment currently pours money into the Trans movement, "climate emergency" activists, DEI, Antifa, etc.

Contrary to Gubarevs predictions Russia eventually showed itself willing to take on not just western sanctions, but semi-permanent and extensive ones. The social disarray and incompetence he points to is still evident, but do recent events show the Russian state was more powerful than he thought?

His complaints about the American fundings of ideologues that capture people's hearts seem to have a nice parallel in how Western ones work in India too... We seem barely protected by Gods and I don't know how long can we deserve them.

He gave examples from real experience and lived through things he described. What is the bases of your conclusions? The use of word "likable" is enough to show that your view about this is very subjective. "But description of Ukrainian people"? he is or was Ukrainian. I am sure he knows much more about Ukrainian people.
